I've always loved hats & fascinators. At uni I was always a little bit jealous of the 'design' students ( I was a set & props construction and design student, which meant I built stuff, or moved it around alot) & their 1 hour class amoungst all those feathers & fabrics, making the kind of headgear you'd want to wear around the house with nothing else on but your favourite pair of heels.

While I was bansawing through a piece of timber or welding a piece of RHS making tables & chairs, I was slowly plotting my revenge to become one of those Melbourne Cup Milliners. 'Look that's Jessica McCallum wearing one of her luscious ostrich feather creations. Pictured here with Cate Blanchett, who dispite her disinterest in racing, is also wearing a Jessica McCallum fascinator'. A girl can dream.

If you would like to purchase one I made for the recent Outskirts Festival, I have an online web album with pics & prices, click here.

I'll be popping up at the Laneway Night Markets as part of Fringe Festival too, My stall will be in Lock Lane, (near the State Library), Northbridge on Saturday 29th Jan 2012, 5:30pm til late. Come down & say Hi.

Or you can order something custom. Just drop me an email jessicamccallum76@gmail.com with a pic, the event your planning to attend, your budget & your favourite colours (or if you've already picked a dress, a picture of that).
